What better way to relax than to ride a camel across Broome's Cable Beach at sunset?
Taking its name from the telegraph cable that was laid between Broome and Java in 1889, Cable Beach is one of Australia's most beautiful beaches (and might I add, we have quite a few stunners) with twenty-two kilometres of pristine white sands and clear blue waters.
It's the perfect location for swimming, picnicking and absorbing Broome's magnificent sunsets.
But what's even better is the sunset camel rides that operate daily along the beach.
The camel rides may be becoming a travel cliche, but that doesn't stop it from being one of the most exhilarating "on top of the world" experiences you can have. During sunset you can get glimpses of marine life frolicking in the water while atop a camel.
And best of all, when you see the sun's reflection in the ripples of the water it provides a "stairway to heaven" illusion, if the beach didn't feel like heaven already.
Pack your cameras and check it out for yourself!
Camel Rides are available all year around and offered by Red Sun Camels, Broome Camel Safaris, and the Cable Beach Club.
